I'm amazed how people manage to bitch about absolutely everything. I hope anet can sort out people like OP from the ones that come up with legitimate criticism when something goes wrong...

I had absolutely zero interest in the event before, during, and after (is it over yet?), but am I bitching that it sucks? No. Because some people liked it and good for them. These events are something extra* anet does on top of maintaining the game, so please don't whine that you didn't like the "extra".

*as opposed to skill balance events, which are necessary for maintaining the game and have every reason to be criticised.

Don't mistake all criticism for "bitching". Some of it is in hopes that the devs will use the info to make future events better.

I am in no way ungrateful for the event, I had fun. Loved racing, even was slightly amused playing rock paper scissors for an hour (stupid npc went on a paper spree when I was spamming rock ) However, there are a few things that could be better, but thats to be expected no? Can't expect the devs to be mind readers or anything. It just a matter of criticism usually sounding negative, so people usually read all criticism that way even if it isn't.

Also I'm not saying some people aren't just "bitching" but I want to point out I think the mini pet thing could have been done differently. A way that made it more of a "reward" than just find the right district. But thats just me, and with that said....

Thank you Anet, its a fun event. Glad you put the time into it and hope to see more rollerbeetle action in the future

The big thing between a GW player and any other MMO* is that we can and often do just walk away from the game when life dictates it. I think ANet handles rewards really well. Thank you for the pig and the hat. You've stuck with the casual gamer in mind and I, for one, appreciate it.

this was a great event and finale. I could really care less about the value of the piggie.

I did enjoy some things during the event. It was nice. The layout was good, and the music took my by surprise too. I liked it very much. But I really could careless on what happens during or after. As for the OP, you are really childish and just bitching because things didn't go your way. It was was your own mistake that you bought all the tickets to get the mini pet. Just learn from it and move on. If you really think its Anets fault, then you should look at how you easily blame things for your mistakes.

I enjoyed the even very much so, I will admit the only pig I got was because I was in a district where other players finished all the dishes, I say thank you for that.

As for the luner fortunes, I agree, they sucked given that the auras were random, the crazy one was cool, and the attribute one would of been good if you could select it, as for the last one, I did not know WTF it even did.

Never won a pig from the fortunes either, had over 150 fortunes between three char, will say this tho, I did make over 10K just in doing the missions and with the fortunes, I am not stupid enough to buy a pig, they are not that big a deal, and with the new hat storage, only one char needs to get the new hat.

As for the rollerbeatle races, yes that was a lot of fun, and it would be nice to have it as a periment PvP event, maybe even make a title for it, (Like we need another title), but never the less a fun event. I know I will never get an top 100 rank, only players who stay up 24/7 achieve such ranks, but only after a couple trys did I get third place, and came very close to first, were it was neck in neck.

I think the rewards for the rollerbeetle thing could be better.

I thought the minipig was actually going to look like a pig. I was very wrong. I hate the warthog, it's ugly. I quit on it as soon as i figured out what it looked like. Screw that.

It wasn't a bad event. It had it's advantages. I made up to 80k on tokens alone, doing all those quests and such.
Thank you all foolish buyers for your patronage ^_^

Look, when you posted this Thread you HAD to expect such posts. Criticism is always good, positive and negative, however your post sounds more like bitching. You weren't patient enough to wait for the end of the event (it was only a couple days!), it is YOUR FAULT for not waiting for your surprise. like I said criticism is always good, but you have no arguement there.

As for you collecting the items, If you read the events page you would see this...

As you see it says the chefs will reward you with Lunar Tokens. if you did get many things for your district, good for you, those people would probablly thank you, too, is that not good enough?

You say people insulted you? weren't you insulting Anet by saying it was the Worst Event Ever? I see this is your OPINION as is every post here, they are criticising your thread.

Calm down, it is YOUR FAULT, not anets.

I guess it's my fault if I die in a car crash, right? I could have just waited for the roads to be clear, right?

Be realistic. The element of surprise never works anymore.

It was fun. Got three pigs, gave one away to a guildie. Quests were cute. If you don't like it , don't play. I didn't get to spend much time on it, but I enjoyed it none the less.

It would be if you had the resources to KNOW the crash would take place. As he said, all the OP had to do was read the events page and he'd know. He didn't do that and thus pays the price for his rashness.

I do think people are being overly flamish though.

Ive been having a ball, and rollerbeetle racing has been one of the more fun things to come in a holiday yet IMHO. I dont really care for value of the pig, as every one I have gotten I have distributed to people in my Guild or friends who cant get one.

The only gripe I have is that the Lucky Aura doesnt really do anything, discernable at least. Ive gone through 10 shiverpeak keys, 5 miners keys, nothing special in Grenth's Footprint/Sorrows Furnace. Maybe a little more gold, but nothing that Ive noticed. No green drops.

You can sure fell the anger in Oblivian's Posts. Calm down!

The Title of this Thread "Worst, Event, Ever" is just asking for silly comments. Your title should have been something along the grounds of "Things I would Change to Canthan New Year" You title is an extreme so naturally you are going to get the opposite extreme in replys. And you can really feel the anger in your posts. People tend to stoke that anger in replys just to make you more upset. It is kind like when you see people spamming in Local and tell them to stop. They will just spam more because you told them to stop and will probably PM spam you just to be rude.

Anyways I enjoy Festival's no matter what the case may be. True it does feel like you got burned cause everyone has a pet you tried so hard to obtain but it is just a game after all and in all games there will be winners and losers. So it is best just to be pleasant to everyone you meet along the way and NEVER to expect anything. If you never expect anything you will never have anything to complain about.

Ah yes, Spaceballs ftw.

Seems like the major points were:

The bad...
- Pigs no longer status symbol of massive player wealth.
- No gamer points for a title to show off.

The good...
- No need to farm for tokens.
- More free stuff.
- Fun quests.

Seems to me the good stuff outweigh the bad. So what if other people got a pig too? Guild Wars isn't supposed to be about grinding, it's about fun.

If you get into a wreck it would be one hell of a surprise, if you sit at the stop light and do not break any laws, and then get into a wreck, that would be the surpise. If you apply that analogy to this situation, you would be saying that he broke a law (Say he ran a red light) then got into a wreck, in that case I would say yes, it was his fault.

Sorry, but alot of what you are saying does NOT apply here anyways, he could have or did know there was going to be a surprise and decided not to wait or not to read the events page. If you get into a wreck and knew you were going to get into a wreck it could be your fault, there was information saying there would be an event at the end. If you wreck because of icy roads after seeing or having the ability to see the weather and they said it was not safe to drive, it is not gods (or the earths, or whatever you believe) fault for puting the ice there.

I thought the event as a whole was freaking awesome.

The finale kind of sucked but its nice that they gave so many the opportunity to get the pigs, just wish they'd told us sooner how the chef system worked.

Finale wise it was week (mad king and dwayna/grenth are much better).

Overall "funness" it was more fun for me than Halloween and Wintersday

This website seems to attract those people. Like a giant magnet for the pissed. every time anet chnages the smallest thing you can bet that theres going to be six threads complaining.

I actually enjoyed myself and had a fun time getting my little pig.

I don't give a crap about people disagreeing with my remarks, contrary to what has been said numerous times here I do have a life. What really gets me pissed off is people insulting me personally just because of my opinion on a computer game. I think it's a deplorable, pathetic thing to do. The title was sdesigned to attract a heated debate, not people saying I have no life, im bitching, im whiney, im mature, im childish etc etc etc.

50% of posts = mindless people who cant see it from other points of views saying how great the festival was, 40% personally insulting me, 5% thoughtfull replies against me, 5% thoughtfull replies with me. It's really not good enough and I don't deserve the crap im getting here. One of the most frustrating things is people talking about me as if im not human, as if I cant hear. What the hell gives everyone here the imperssion I'm somehow a lesser being, one not worthy to be in their company? Everybody here is so high and mighty, and oh so ready to gang up on someone. I used to love these forums and im very disappointed. Oh and yeah you're right, I am angry and I think I have every right to be.

CLOSE PLEASE.
